Why should one visit Chirripó?

Chirripó National Park is not only the highest summit in Central America, except for Guatemala; but it also protects a very wide variety of ecosystems and kinds of high land forests that can only be appreciated at this altitude and in the tropical area.

Some of the usual fauna of the area are the wild hare, the quetzal, birds of prey, felines, tapirs and many other.
